Uses for Duct Tape

Few people, if any, have exhausted the many possibilities of duct tape. It has been used for nearly everything tape can be used for, ranging from seat repair and conventional functions to the creation of purses, Halloween costumes, and much more. Within industrial industries, it is more common for duct tape to be used for things like audio wire hold down, color-coding, waterproof packaging, reinforcing, bundling, and sealing, and carpet hold down. Carpet Tape

Another great tape for carpet hold down is, not surprisingly, double face cloth/carpet tape. Our Multi-Purpose Double Coated Carpet Tape is a two-sided tape that comes on cloth backing with rubber adhesive. Its primary purpose is carpet hold down for those in the convention industry, as mentioned above, but other general uses include aircraft manufacture and construction, mounting, holding, and even simple things like holding plastic a plastic drop cloth in place.

AT JHL Industries, our carpet tape is 11mils in total thickness and comes in 1”, 2”, 4”, 6” or 8” by 36-yard sizes. The adhesion of this tape is 40 ounces per inch to stainless steel, and its longitudinal tensile strength is 20 pounds per inch.

Other tapes that are appropriate for cloth or carpet hold down include gaffer tape, blue painter’s tapes, and tunnel tape (if cables are involved).
